Exterior Energy Retrofit Example

These images show the progressive steps of removing deficient siding, application of 3 inches of foil faced polyisocyanurate insulation over exterior sheathing, and finally new exterior trim and siding details.  Steps involved:

  1. the removal of deficient siding
  2. installation of an interstitial air barrier over existing sheathing
  3. applying polyisocyanurate insulation in a horizontal then vertical matrix to minimize thermal bridging
  4. application of final layer of a drainage plain membrane
  5. and finally the attractive finished  product

Approximate stated R factor of new wall = 31
